Grounds Crew
Overview
The Grounds Crew work under the Grounds Manager on basic lawn care and grounds tasks; you will understand standard safety regulations and basic turf management; and will operate under the International Peace Garden’s maintenance strategy to meet or exceed standards. Grounds tasks include mowing, trimming, weeding, hardscape maintenance, mulching, weed whipping, trail clearing and maintenance, wood clearing, chopping and chipping and more.
Grounds Crew will assist with event set up and tear down.
Grounds Crew must be able to work a minimum of 2 weekends a month.
Grounds Crew work in all weather conditions and are required to wear closed toe shoes while at work.
The International Peace Garden is located just south of Boissevain, MB (approximately 20 minutes) on the border of Canada and the US. We do have some staff housing available on site for eligible staff.
Qualifications
- Ability to use the tools, equipment, techniques, materials and methods of grounds management
- Ability to work with a multiple person crew to complete tasks and daily routines
- Ability to learn to maintain basic equipment
- Knowledge of basic safety rules and regulations.
- Able to lift 50lbs+ multiple times a day
- Valid Driver's License
