The role
We are seeking an In Home Technician to join our Thompson, Manitoba team! Our In Home Technicians are responsible for ensuring we deliver an outstanding customer experience during the installation and servicing process of our Shaw products.

A typical day
As an In Home Technician, you will:

• Install Internet, cable television, Digital Cable Terminals, Digital Phone Terminals and home entertainment equipment for our customers
• Exchange and collect Shaw equipment to ensure our products are performing at an efficient level
• Maintain accurate inventory information for equipment
• Ensure all work orders are coded accurately and submitted in a timely manner
• Demonstrate, promote and sell the features, advantages, and benefits of Shaw’s products and services
• Provide outstanding customer service

Your skills/experience
• Minimum Grade 12 education is required; post-secondary technical schooling is an asset.
• Experience in customer service and customer-facing environments is preferred, with sales or retail experience as an asset.
• Previous experience working in trades (Carpentry or electrical) and the ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team.
• A positive, “can-do” demeanor and customer-focused approach that enables you to handle situations with integrity, patience, and sincerity.
• Ability to perform work safely in all types of conditions – indoor and outdoor.
• Physically able to perform all facets of the job including: the ability to climb ladders and poles; carry ladders; drag manhole covers 1 - 1.5 m; move televisions, entertainment units, and /or computer stations; work in a crouched position behind furniture; and work in confined areas such as attics.
• Ability to maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and provide an annual driver’s abstract.
• Possess and maintain appropriate tools and equipment to perform the duties.
• Possess and maintain a vehicle (and insurance) that meets Shaw specifications and safety standards.
• Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.

• This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check
• We provide services for our customers 7 days a week, so you must be able to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Qualifications
