International Peace Garden Seasonal Horticulture Positions

Overview

The International Peace Garden is looking for highly motivated, sun-worshipping plant enthusiasts to join our seasonal horticulture team! Whether you just like working in the outdoors or need to complete practicum/coop hours to graduate, the International Peace Garden can offer you an enriching on-the-job learning experience that is unique to the northern prairies.

Build expertise and skills by participating in the development and maintenance of an established formal public garden. Working alongside skilled horticulturists you will be able to further your knowledge of planting annuals and perennials, weed identification and control, ornamental plant identification, edible plant cultivation, pruning, mulching, composting and irrigation methods to name just a few. You will also have the chance to interact with visitors from around the world at an international tourist attraction.

Qualifications

-Be able to lift 50 lbs
-Be able to work long hours outdoors in the elements
-Be available some weekends
-Possess a valid driver's license (preferred, exceptions will be considered)

For students with a practicum/co-op requirement:

-Students are encouraged to make sure that they pass on the correct information w.r.t to satisfying practicum requirements to relevant supervisors at the IPG. Doing so promptly allows IPG staff to adequately prepare targeted tasks/projects that would better expose students to relevant learning opportunities in horticulture.
