Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
Overview
Position Summary: Reporting to the Plant Manager, Otterburne, the Heavy Duty Mechanic, is an organized and self-motivated person who will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of 17 truck and trailer units’ brakes, suspension, steering and oil changes. We have newer light trucks and an excellent shop workspace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, inspect, and perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on the truck fleet.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Work on the hydraulic system and tractor and trailer wiring.
Commitment to always follow safety procedures.
Manage scheduling repairs, purchase orders, and maintenance records via computer systems
Occasional on-call after hours and on weekends.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or 3 years equivalent experience
Certified on ABS air brake systems
Class 1 with Air Brake License preferred
Ability to regularly bend and twist and lift 50 pounds.
Can effectively work with minimal supervision but also can work well with a team
High learning capacity, accountability, execution, integrity, team-focused, respectful, and coachable.
