Junior Agronomist

Valleyview Co-op is hiring a Full-Time JUNIOR AGRONOMIST (student) for a summer term at our Farm & Ranch Centre in VIRDEN, MB.

What you’ll do:
The Junior Agronomist, under mentorship of a senior Agronomist, assists on a wide variety of agronomic services to our customers and promotes the sale of chemical, seed, fertilizer, custom application, and crop supplies services. The Junior Agronomist is exposed to agronomic issues and challenges and begins to source solutions or recommendations. The Junior Agronomist shadows a mentor to acquire knowledge and experience on establishing credibility and developing ongoing, profitable sales relationships with the Co-operative’s customers. Gains knowledge to cross promote Farm & Ranch and Petroleum services and products.

This position falls under Collective Bargaining Agreement with UFCW 832. Wage Range: $13.81 - $19.35/hour

Qualifications

Who you are:
You are looking to start a career in agriculture and you:
• are a student enrolled in Agriculture Post Secondary Education or have related experience in the Ag field
• have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• have knowledge of farm related goods and experience in a farm environment
• have at a minimum a Class 5 Valid Drivers license
• can lift 50lbs or greater
This position is 40 hours/week, from Monday- Friday (May 1- August 30). Additional hours and weekends as needed during busy season.
