Our Virden, Manitoba office is seeking a full time Junior Environmental Scientist/Technologist to support our growing assessment, remediation, reclamation, and monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

• Active participation in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culture
• Assist with the field coordination and execution of Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments, remediation, and ground water monitoring programs
• Assist with surface reclamation, soil, and vegetation assessments
• Assist with the preparation of reports, work plans, and cost estimates
• Participate in spill responses and associated clean-up activities
• Travel as required to support field programs
• Assist with other service line projects when needed

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

• Degree or technical diploma in the environmental sciences or engineering field
• 1-2 years of related experience, or willingness to learn on the job
• Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
• Service-oriented and have the ability to multi-task
• Self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to lift and move items up to 50lbs (i.e., equipment, coolers)
• A valid driver’s license with no restrictions and clean driving record
