Labourer Summer Student

Overview

A Day in the Life:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Summer Student Labourer will perform various general labour duties, including painting, cleaning, manual labour, and yard work. This position provides a valuable opportunity for local university students, to gain practical experience in an industrial setting.

This is a temporary, full-time position for the summer. The successful candidate must be available to work in all weather conditions and commit to the full duration of the term.

Position Details:

Work Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday
Hourly Pay Rate: $24.94

Core Functions:

Strict adherence to all Bunge safety policies and procedures.
Painting various surfaces inside and outside the facility, as required.
Performing general clean-up and housekeeping tasks in all areas of the facility, both indoors and outdoors.
Maintaining the grounds and performing yard work, including mowing, trimming, and weeding.
Assisting with other duties as assigned by the Refinery Manager or other designated personnel.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution with plans to return to school in the fall is preferred, preferably in the first or second year of an engineering program.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Completion of Grade 12 or GED preferred.
Previous industrial or general labour experience is an asset.
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment, in all weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
