Job Description:
Brandt has a seasonal full-time position available this spring. This position leads a team for the design, installation and fostering of seasonal gardening displays while maintaining and caring for flowers, shrubs, and trees. Experience in the design, layout and planting of a formal garden is required. Additional duties include weeding, hedge and shrub pruning and edging, disease/pest identification, applying pesticides and fertilizers, maintaining garden areas (sweeping, leaf blowing), spring/fall cleanup, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a degree, diploma, or certificate in Horticulture/Agriculture. Or at least 4 years of professional horticulture experience/training. Consideration is given to current Horticulture or Turf Grass program students.
• They will be a strong communicator with great leadership skills, who can manage and work alongside a team of 3-5 people, in a collaborative and positive manner.
• Able to adapt and problem-solve.
• Work successfully with minimal direct supervision.
• Have strong attention to detail and take great pride in the work they produce.
• This position will require you to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be comfortable using various tools and landscape equipment. And be able to preform physically demanding duties.
• Must be available to work some Saturdays.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working in a greenhouse.
