In line with True North’s commitment to enhancing experiences across our operations, we are excited to announce that we have taken over hospitality services at Canada Life Centre and the Burton Cummings Theatre. This strategic move will allow us to leverage synergies with other operational teams to further improve all aspects of guest experience at our venues.
As part of the Hospitality team, the Manager, Beverage Operations will operate under the Senior Manager, Warehouse & Procurement and be a key player at Canada Life Centre and Burton Cummings Theatre, overseeing beverage operations. This role is tasked with the innovative and efficient management of all aspects of beverage operations, including bars, draft systems, and drink creation and service.

Leadership: Establish and uphold the highest standards of beverage service offerings and quality.
Beverage Expertise: Curate an exceptional drink and draft beer menu that aligns with our commitment to quality, speed, and excellent guest experiences.
Systems Development: Implement and monitor systems that ensure a work environment dedicated to consistent quality, guest satisfaction, and efficiency.
Team Management: Train, and lead a diverse team committed to integrity and excellence in beverage services.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the hospitality team and partners to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Operational Oversight: Manage the beverage operations, selection of product and merchandising, developing feature drinks, ensuring compliance with MLCC regulations, sanitation and cleanliness, as well as liquor control.
Guest Engagement: Build relationships with guests to understand their needs and enhance their experience.
Analysis: Evaluate performance metrics to guide operational enhancements and product distribution and merchandizing decisions.
Qualifications
What we need from you:
A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field, an asset. Related certifications, as an asset.
Proven experience in beverage service management, preferably in a premium or upscale setting.
Understanding of food safety and liquor standards, along with relevant certifications.
Ability to be adaptive and proactive in problem-solving.
Strong leadership skills, with experience in building high-performance teams that focus on positivity and collaboration.
Proficiency in inventory management, beverage control, point of sale systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and be adept at learning and adapting to new technologies and software as required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be able to communicate effectively with dynamic personalities and stakeholders at all levels, and have a customer-focused, positive attitude.
Demonstrated ability managing and prioritizing multiple projects and competing deadlines; ability to take direction and is self-motivated.
The highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
Strong multitasking skills, and ability to navigate competing demands and managing multiple priorities.
A natural inclination towards hospitality; an innate sense of empathy, a genuine desire to help others, and a knack for making individuals feel welcome.
