BMT is seeking summer students for 2024 employment in Brandon, MB. As a contributing member of our team, you will enjoy a fast paced, friendly environment that is collaborative and energized. Self-motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work within time constraints are essential to this position.
The successful candidate will be a core member of our field and laboratory services team and will work closely with BMT’s manager of the field and material testing laboratory unit. Individuals who are enthusiastic about taking a leadership role in their careers will be well suited to meet the expectations of this position.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct materials testing and quality control inspections
• Tracking material quantities on construction sites
• Assist senior staff in structural/civil analysis, design, and contract administration, as candidates capabilities permit
• Perform geotechnical instrumentation monitoring
• Survey assistant and other engineering related responsibilities
• Assist in administration of projects

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Has completed a minimum of one year of a Civil Engineering Technology Program or one year of the Civil Engineering Degree
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer skills and AutoCad skills will be considered an asset
• Willingness to work overtime and outside the City of Brandon
• Soils, concrete, and asphalt testing skills will be considered an asset
• Comfortable on construction sites
• Valid drivers’ license

Hours of Work: Minimum 8 hours per day.
Remuneration: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, paid Bi-Weekly
