The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one term Payroll Clerk position within our Human Resources Department located at 150 Henry Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The anticipated end date for this term position is June 30, 2026, however, there is a possibility for extension, or conversion into a regular full-time position.
Qualifications
Job Duties/Competencies:
• Process biweekly and monthly payroll for MMF students and clients;
• Verify and input timesheet data;
• Assist with biweekly payroll processing for MMF employees;
• Assist with the preparation of T4s;
• Conduct manual checks to identify and resolve duplicate accounts within the payroll system, ensuring data integrity;
• Scan and file payroll documents;
• Modify employee records and collect employee payroll data;
• Set up new hires in the payroll system by adding their banking info, tax forms, etc.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• Desire to obtain Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation is an asset;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint;
• Experience with Sage 300 and/or ADP Workforce Now is an asset;
• High attention to detail;
• Ability to adapt to change in priorities and work well under pressure;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
