Principal Planner

Overview

Reporting to the Director of the Planning & Buildings Department, the Principal Planner is responsible for providing leadership to the Planning team to lead, manage and facilitate change for the betterment of the community. Being Manitoba’s second largest city, Brandon has experienced solid and consistent growth and provides opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to grow and succeed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12, G.E.D. or Mature High School Diploma
• Degree in Planning from an accredited university as outlined by the Professional Standards Board (PSB) for the Planning Profession in Canada or approval through the prior learning assessment route as outlined by the PSB
• Certification as a Registered Professional Planner
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in a planning environment.

EXPERIENCE
• Two (2) years of experience in a progressive leadership position;
• Experience in a government setting;
• An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
