Overview
True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for an organized, enthusiastic, and people-focused Public Tours Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation of public tours at Canada Life Centre.
The Public Tours Coordinator plays an important role in creating memorable experiences for guests by ensuring every tour runs smoothly from start to finish. From leading and supporting a team of tour guides to coordinating schedules, overseeing bookings, and collaborating with departments across the venue, you'll help showcase one of Manitoba's premier sports and entertainment destinations while delivering exceptional service to every guest.
What to be excited for in this role:
Lead all Canada Life Centre public tour guide scheduling, including managing availability and the creation of schedule as per budgetary allowance.
Coordinate with other building departments to ensure building readiness, including Housekeeping, Operations, Audio Visual, Ticketing, and Security.
Provide supervision, support and coaching to the tour guides. Be visible, engaged and supportive to team members.
Assist with leading tours when needed.
Following up with team member absences and tardiness.
Prepare and communicate tour related information to team members.
Responsible for monitoring department part-time team member headcount requirements and initiating needs for recruitment.
With People & Culture, oversee recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training programs for new team members.
Assistance with following up with team members regarding issues arising during events
Assist payroll by reviewing and approving team member shifts.
Provide reporting and metrics to measure tour KPI’s to monitor for trends and recommend adjustments.
Manage inventory levels of bookings and tour gifts.
In addition to these primary roles, this position may be asked to complete other assignments/tasks which may be assigned from time to time, as workloads and schedule allow.
Qualifications
What we need from you:
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a dynamic work environment.
Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry.
Great office administrative knowledge.
Friendly outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally at all levels.
Good knowledge of and the ability to work with computer software, especially in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and Outlook.
Proven experience coordinating a small group of team members.
Experience in the recruitment and training of team members.
Self-motivated individual with a desire to learn about Canada Life Centre and the history of True North Sports + Entertainment, the Winnipeg Jets, Manitoba Moose, and Canada Life Centre.
Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion as necessary.
Flexible availability with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
