Overview
True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a dependable Receiver/Prep Cook to join our team.
The Receiver/Prep Cook will be responsible for receiving and inspecting food deliveries, ensuring proper storage, and assisting with food preparation tasks to support the kitchen team at Canada Life Centre. This role plays a key part in maintaining the flow of kitchen operations by ensuring that ingredients are fresh, stored correctly, and ready for use in menu preparation.
What to be excited for in this role:
Receive, unpack, and inspect all food deliveries to ensure accuracy, quality, and that all items meet safety and quality standards.
Report any damaged or expired items to the manager and work to resolve discrepancies with vendors.
Accurately log received products and stock shelves, refrigerators, and freezers.
Rotate stock, maintain cleanliness, and ensure stock is organized.
Supporting kitchen team including performing prep work, cleaning and dish washing.
Ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, and ingredients are available for cooks.
Comply with sanitation and safety requirements, ensuring all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained in accordance with safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What we need from you:
Available during morning and daytime hours.
Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting, preferably in receiving and/or food prep roles.
Possess Food Handler Certification.
Possess valid Health and Safety certification.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be personable, maintain a professional disposition and dress hygienically in accordance with policy.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift heavy boxes, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
