Our recreation leaders work in multiple fun positions in various locations and program formats ranging from weekly classes to day camps. In each program, you will have the opportunity to lead activities that help our community members learn new skills and make social connections.

You will also have the responsibility of opening the theatre and providing excellent customer service to the community. Responsibilities include operating the video player & popcorn machine, monitoring customers to ensure entitlement to theatre privileges and/or access to restricted movies, and performing cleaning/closing duties of the theatre facility.

You will get experience designing recreational programs, teaching and leading individuals and groups, and operating the theatre, while ensuring a healthy and safe environment. Working for us is a great way to turn your passion into a career. This is your chance to get paid to play.

We are currently looking for two (2) Recreation Leaders on a casual basis with a term of one year. Contract extension opportunities may be available. Applicants must be available for a variety of shifts, including days, evenings and weekends. This position is offering up to 13.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma
(OR An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered)
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
A valid driver’s license (Manitoba), an asset
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)

Experience
In working with children
In programming activities for children
In leading children in activities
In ensuring safety protocols and procedures

Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
