The Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre (MCDC), located in Carberry – Manitoba, fosters the development and adoption of science-based solutions for agricultural crop production. The Centre collaborates on applied research projects with industry and academic institutions, collectively advancing agricultural innovations to producers.
The MCDC invites applications for multiple Research Assistant positions to support agricultural applied research operations in Carberry. This is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates to expand their knowledge of crop production across various crops, including cereals, oilseeds, pulses, forages, cover crops, and potatoes while gaining hands-on experience in field research methodologies.
Duties:
The Research Assistant will provide field operations and technical support to applied crop production and agricultural land management research at the Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre to execute agricultural field crop experiments. Activities include assisting in small plot crop seeding, plot maintenance, data collection, data entry, and harvest.
Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak periods, such as growing and harvest seasons.
- Physically capable of working outdoors in various environmental conditions.
- Open to college and university students, recent graduates, and individuals with a strong interest in agricultural research operations.
