Resource Technician- Prairie Watershed Climate Program
Overview
With offices in both Ethelbert and Ste.Rose, MB, the Resource Technician will work throughout the District to promote and implement the Prairie Watershed Climate Program (PWCP). This is a one-year term position, with an extension possible.
Duties:
Office and field responsibilities related to our local PWCP program related to Nitrogen Management, Rotational Grazing, and Cover Crops.
Meet with landowners to discuss, design, and implement potential projects.
Responsible for outreach, and promotion of the program.
Nitrogen Management; responsible for Crop & equipment inspections, invoice verification, pictures and gathering data.
Cover Crops; responsible for cover crop inspections, pictures, and invoice verification.
Rotational Grazing; responsible for fencing/watering system inspections, invoice verification, pictures and legume crop inspections.
Qualifications
Essential:
Strong communication skills
Possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in a job-related field
Valid class 5 drivers license
Experience in the agriculture or conservation sector is considered an asset, as is experience with GPS and GIS.
