Rotational Hotel Manager - EPLS Group of Companies
Overview
EPLS Group of Companies is currently looking for a Rotational Hotel Manager to join our team!
The Rotational Hotel Manager will manage and oversee the operations of EPLS hotels in Arviat and Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate and have passion and interest for all aspects of hotel operations. Working together with other Hotel Managers, they will lead a small team to deliver quality hospitality services.
The rotation schedule for this position is 10 weeks on and 3 weeks off (total of 40 weeks worked and 12 weeks off). On the off weeks, EPLS will cover the Hotel Manager's travel to and from their home province. This is a permanent position that reports directly to the General Manager.
Job Duties:
- Management and operation of the Hotel/Properties, including check-in and checkout of guests, while providing superior customer service and solutions
- Accurate and timely completion of night audit procedures and provision of reports and other information to head office on a daily basis
- Negotiate and secure long-term and/or group bookings
- Management of the conference services provided by the Hotel, including ensuring catering services and other requirements are provided as needed
- Management of vehicle rentals
- Hiring, training, and coaching of all staff, and supervision of the housekeeping department
- Manage internal and external condition of the property, including conducting regular walk-through inspections
- Management of room supplies inventory, and ordering of items when necessary to ensure uninterrupted provision of services
- Manage maintenance and repairs to properties as required
- Ongoing analysis of the effectiveness of hotel operations to enhance continuing performance and solving of problems, while maintaining hotel standards and guidelines
- Must be willing to fulfill duties as back-up housekeeper for maintenance and cleaning of the hotels as required
- Other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED, Post-Secondary education in a related field is an asset
- Ability to travel regularly is required
- Previous ‘Five Star’ hotel operating system experience is preferred
- Previous experience or knowledge of northern living/small community dynamics is an asset
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills and customer service
- Must be advanced in computer applications with good level of experience with Microsoft products
- Good problem solving ability
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Good attention to detail, time management with the ability to multi-task, and organizational skills
- Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable with a positive team attitude.
