Seasonal Recreation Coordinator
Overview
The Hamiota Municipality is accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Recreation Coordinator to manage the Recreation and Aquatic Centre staff from April 1 – October 1, flexible start and end dates will be considered. Work hours will be flexible, the ability to work evenings and weekends is considered an asset.
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of recreation programs and overseeing the management of the Aquatic Centre. Working with the Assistant Recreation Director(s) and Aquatic Centre staff, the Recreation Coordinator helps to plan and implement a diverse calendar of events for our vibrant community. The Recreation Coordinator reports to the CAO.
This role requires an applicant who is enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic. The ideal candidate is a team leader, with a passion for Community.
Qualifications
This position requires good verbal and written communication skills, high level organization and an understanding of financial budgets and staff management. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for interviewing and assembling a team to staff the aquatic centre. Knowledge about the Life Saving Society, pool management and government regulations is a asset.
Applicants should have prior successful experience in a supervisory or management position and be able to demonstrate leadership and coaching skills. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. This position is best suited for someone that is self-directed, with a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine interest in providing enriching recreation opportunities to the community.
A flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends is preferred. The selected candidate will require a Class 5 Drivers’ License and hiring is subject to a Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check.
