Seed Quality Assurance Lead
Overview
DL Seeds is a plant breeding and seed production company whose goal is to produce superior canola hybrid and pulse varieties that are profitable to producers in North America. Our success is in our people and our genetics. Our research team works closely with industry partners, universities, other breeders, and our distributors to test and develop the best possible crop varieties. DL Seeds mission is to excel in Spring Canola Hybrid and Pulse performance in the North American marketplace.
Qualifications
DL Seeds is currently seeking a self-motivated, mature individual to fill our full-time position of Seed Quality Assurance Lead. This position will be based out of our Winnipeg Research Station.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Sample logistics, data input, record keeping, reporting, and auditing.
• Manage a quality assurance field program.
• Logistics – International importing and exporting of canola and pulse seed.
• Inventory management– Record keeping, coordinate multiple locations and prepare for auditing.
• Updating Inventory management data base.
• Assisting with DL Seeds production, canola breeding, and field-testing departments as required.
• Potential domestic travel to assist with commercial seed production.
• Other duties as required.
To be considered for this position, the following would be an asset:
• Previous experience in Quality Assurance systems, seed logistics and/or inventory management
• Post-Secondary education in Agriculture or related field
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Excel mandatory.
• Interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Valid driver license
• Willing to work outdoors in the summer as needed.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
DL Seeds Inc. Winnipeg Research Station is located at the SW corner of the Perimeter Highway and Highway 330 in Winnipeg. There is no public transportation to the site. Hours of operation are 8am-4:30pm.
