Job Title: Snow Ranger Crew Member – Snow Shoveler
Position Type: Casual/Part-time, On-Call
Wage: Based on Experience and Performance
Reports to: Grounds Foreman/Manager

Purpose: Livingstone Landscaping Ltd. provides snow/ice removal and emergency access for residential and commercial properties. Snow Rangers/Shovelers perform snow/ice removal during all snow events. This physically demanding role requires tools such as shovels, scrapers, snow blowers, and backpack blowers. Snow Rangers begin their shifts as early as 4:00 a.m. in all types of weather. It is important that individuals can report to the location at the designated start time during all types of weather conditions. (Public transit is not valid.) This role is a weather-dependent, on-call position. Priority shifts will be given to dependable individuals with open availability and those who communicate efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Physically able to perform labor duties
• Maintains good attendance and displays a strong work ethic
• Basic understanding of snow equipment (shovels, snow throwers, backpack blowers)
• Basic understanding of shoveling techniques (distances from garages, doorways, proper lifting/throwing techniques)
• Communicates effectively, knowledge of two-way radio operation
• Properly and efficiently fill out all paperwork
• Assist with daily vehicle walk around, checks, and fueling up
• Physically fit to complete all tasks; Fit testing may be required
• Knowledge of overall Safety skills and requirements, i.e., Hazard Assessments, etc.
• Ability to shovel correctly with little supervision (around edges, doorways, etc.)
• Demonstrates a level of interest in successful job completion
• Maintains equipment and truck to standards
• Assists with completing pre/post trip successfully per shift
• Ability to successfully park trucks (backing into parking spaces)
• Demonstrates good communication and asks questions
• Strong team player attitude
• Shows great attention to detail and performs quality work

Qualifications:
• Valid class 5F Driver’s license
• Ability to perform the physicality of the job
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork attitude
• Communicate in English

Work Conditions:

Physical Conditions:
The duties of the Snow Ranger Crew Member are carried out in an outdoor environment.
• Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions, including cold and inclement weather such as blizzards, sleet, low visibility, ice, etc., heavy traffic and equipment noise, and close proximity to moving vehicles
• This work operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays, when required
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs (daily)
• Ability to cross on uneven ground (daily)
• Long hours (which may include 10 hours or more per working day)
• Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, and crouching
• Manual dexterity is required through the safe and proper operation of hand tools, power tools, motor vehicles, and construction equipment

Psychological/Stress Conditions:
The Snow Removal Equipment Operator’s position workload and environment do not generally increase employee emotional or stress levels.

• Job demands versus time constraints (daily).
• Traffic density
