Overview
Spend your days immersed in the landscapes and farm towns of the Canadian Prairies. Covering a wide area across Western Canada, you’ll collect valuable soil data using advanced GPS mapping and hydraulic equipment, and be part of the technology transforming modern agriculture.
📅 Term: September 1 – December 1
⏱ Hours: Full Time (40+ hrs/week)
📌 Note: Casual work may be available between December 1 and April 15, with opportunity for full-time spring work from April 15 – June 15 annually.
💰 Wage: Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Includes hourly wage plus commission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely travel to assigned farm locations across the region
• Communicate clearly with growers and team members
• Use GPS mapping software to navigate to soil core sites
• Operate hydraulic soil sampling equipment with care
• Follow soil sampling protocols to ensure high-quality data
• Properly label, handle, and ship samples to maintain integrity
• Keep accurate records of locations, growers, dates, and observations
• Assist with maintenance and basic repairs of sampling vehicles and gear
• Help maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
✔️ Valid Driver’s License — must be confident & experienced driving rural MB/SK gravel roads
✔️ Background or experience in agriculture
✔️ Strong organizational and communication skills
✔️ Attention to detail is essential
✔️ Ability to work independently and follow procedures
✔️ Willing and able to stay in hotels and travel throughout Western Canada for extended periods during the busy season
