Species at Risk Program Assistant Internship (Livestock Watering Systems)
Overview
The Association of Manitoba Community Pastures (AMCP) is seeking an intern for the summer of 2023 to implement the delivery of species-at-risk habitat improvement projects. Specifically, the intern would set up solar watering systems with partnering livestock producers (AMCP patrons) who have native grasslands. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who likes to work independently and outdoors.
The position involves:
- Completing agreements with partnering producers.
- Coordinating delivery of the systems.
- Installing the watering systems. Training is provided.
- Physical labour and travel are required.
- There may be other opportunities to work on the community pastures during the summer. For example, the applicant may assist with other infrastructure repairs on fences, windmills and watering systems on the Pastures, as needed.
This internship will run from May to September, start and end dates are flexible. Due to funding requirements, the intern must be a returning student and a valid driver’s license is required. AMCP offers a competitive compensation package. Based out of Minnedosa, a work vehicle will be supplied for related travel.
