Summer Agronomy Scout

Overview

Borderline Agriculture is now accepting applications for a Summer Agronomy Scout.

This position will work in conjunction with the Lead Agronomist, assisting them in conveying key information from the field to our customers. This position is ideal for a student that is interested in agriculture or farming.

Key Responsibilities:
• Visit clients’ fields on a weekly basis
• Complete grower reports that will report and identify insects, weeds and diseases occurrences
• Take soil and tissue samples
• Clearly communicate observations to the Lead Agronomist
• Utilize scouting software to optimize field coverage
• May require assisting Agronomist with field trials
• Represent the company and operate equipment in a professional, positive and pleasant manner
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Currently working towards a degree or diploma in agriculture or related field
• Able to work outdoors in all weather for extended periods of time
• Must have a valid class 5 drivers license and be able to operate an ATV in the field
• Able to work with little to no supervision, self starter, critical thinker and team player
• Agriculture background is considered an asset but not required
