Summer Day Camp Coordinator

Overview

Do you love working with children and creating memorable summer experiences? Are you enthusiastic, organized, and community‑focused? As the Summer Day Camp Coordinator, you will lead and deliver inclusive, engaging, and safe camp programs that help children build confidence, make friends, and experience a strong sense of belonging. You will coach and support a team of staff and volunteers to ensure every camper feels welcomed, supported, and empowered throughout their time at camp.

What else do you need?

2+ years’ experience working with children or youth (camp, recreation, or similar setting)
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role (staff or volunteers
Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to support inclusive practices and create welcoming spaces for all campers
Knowledge of safety, risk management, and child wellbeing practices
Strong organization and administrative skills

ASSETS

Post‑secondary education in recreation, child development, education, or related field
• Additional child‑ or youth‑focused certification

Qualifications

Are you the right fit?

Able to plan, develop, and deliver fun, inclusive, age‑appropriate programs
Able to coordinate daily schedules, special events, and field trips while ensuring camper safety
Skilled at supervising, mentoring, and supporting staff and volunteers
Create inclusive spaces and maintain a safe, supportive camp environment.
Communicate with parents/guardians, providing updates and addressing concerns
Maintain accurate records (attendance, incident reports, staff schedules, etc.)
Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to adapt in a fast‑paced environment
