Summer Research Internship  (91364)

Contract Duration: 4 - 6 months (Summer)   

Location: Winkler, MB 

Wage: $22hr – $29hr

BASF's Intern Program was created to provide highly motivated, mobile-minded current university students an opportunity to enhance their professional skills through a variety of diverse learning experiences. This internship allows interns to contribute to real-world business needs, while exploring career options and developing technical and professional decision-making skills. Interns will have the opportunity to assess their capabilities, skills, and interests and gain valuable exposure to BASF's culture, values, and decision-makers.

Program Summary

We offer students the opportunity to contribute to real-world agriculture solutions. This program also offers undergraduate students the ability to apply their education and background to challenging assignments to build both technical and professional skills.

As a highly motivated undergraduate student, you will participate in a 4 – 6-month internship located within Canada.
Enhanced career development and value delivery to BASF. Throughout the internship, BASF will host learning events for personal and professional development and an opportunity to explore possible career tracks within the company.
Successfully engaging across the business throughout your internship will expand your network, allow you to grow personally and professionally, and learn a variety of valuable skill sets.
All interns will be assessed throughout the summer for either a returning internship offer, or a full time offer for one of our Professional Development Rotational programs.
Formula for Success: You Will…

Supporting the research program and help develop agricultural solutions for Canadian growers.
Planning and executing small plot field experiments at our research farms (Seed, spray, evaluate, maintain, harvest, summarize and present results).
A hard working and collaborative team atmosphere.
Activities that require attention to detail and good communication skills.
Experiences in crop production, trial methodology, pest identification and the operation of small plot equipment.
Working in and supporting a safe and healthy work environment.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

Actively enrolled in an agriculture science or related degree program (e.g. environmental science, biology, agronomy, soil science, etc.)
High level of enthusiasm and strong commitment to gain experience in field research and the agricultural industry.
Demonstrated leadership skills & academic achievement.
An understanding of agricultural practices and farm equipment is an asset.
Valid drivers’ licence required.
