Overview

SERF is a producer-driven, not-for-profit research farm located near Redvers, SK. We do regional variety
trials, cutting-edge intercropping research, and a lot of cool agronomy trials. We work with over 20
different crops each year, and the results generated from our trials help the SK Ministry of Ag provide
recommendations to producers. Our research also directly helps farmers make decisions regarding
agricultural practices and inputs on their farms. Every year in July we host field days where farmers and
industry can see research trials for themselves.
We are hiring seasonal staff for next year to help carry out research protocols in the field and indoors.
Outdoor tasks will include helping with seeding, soil sampling, weeding, doing plant counts, taking data
on flowering and plant heights, sample collection, and helping with harvest. Indoor jobs will include data
entry in Excel, setting up germination tests, doing seed counts, and assisting in post-harvest sample
processing and shipping.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate should
- Be able to work outdoors and should be comfortable squatting, standing, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and pay attention to detail.
- Be willing to do some repetitive tasks.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
Experience in agriculture or operating farm equipment is an asset but is not essential. Experience in agriculture is not required, but a can-do attitude and willingness to learn is.
