Position Overview
As a Summer Student Agronomist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Seed treating
• Crop protection recommendations
• Field scouting
• Soil sampling
• Fertilizer blending
• Crop protection and seed shipping & receiving
• General yard and facility maintenance
You will have opportunities to consistently develop your agricultural knowledge through hands-on experience, enrollment in summer student programs, and attendance at crop tours.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
• Registered in a degree or diploma program in Agriculture or a related field (asset)
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to Westbourne, MB
• Ability to work extended hours from May to August, including evenings and weekends
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs but and work in an outdoor environment

Shur-Gro Farm Services is an independent agriculture retailer supplying seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products directly to producers. We also provide agronomy services and custom application. We are currently seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team at our Westbourne, MB location for the summer.
