Support Technician

We have partnered with the leading provider of security and security surveillance services in Brandon, Manitoba to support in their search of a new Support Technician to join their team.

The Support Technician works with customers and installers to resolve basic networking issues, camera systems, NVRs, wireless bridges & phone apps. The Support Technician will also work with installers, sales associates, vendors and kitting technicians to provide programming and testing support.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and basic network related problems encountered by end users.

· Track issue resolution, identifies patterns of failure, research bug fixes and implement solutions, communication with manager regarding unresolved problems.

· Analyze bugs in systems and application software; research and test possible solutions and implements solutions.

· Work with end users, Installers and vendors troubleshooting camera systems including NVRs, phone apps & wireless bridges.

· Basic in shop diagnostics of cameras, bridges, NVRs that may require small repairs.

· Build connectors/adapters for implementing camera systems.

· Testing of new equipment to ensure compatibility with current systems.

· Work with the IT department to maintain equipment/software in the Brandon branch office as required.

· Maintain website and print catalogue.

· Various shop/office duties as required.

Requirements and Competencies

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electronics, networking, or related field is preferred.

· Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.

· Knowledge of basic networking concepts and protocols.

· Experience with CCTV systems, NVRs, wireless bridges, and related technologies.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

· Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check.
