What you’ll do:

• Operate, manage, troubleshoot, and evolve the compute infrastructure which includes servers, operating systems and related backend systems, software applications (OSS and BSS), virtual machines, storage system, firewalls, monitoring and ticketing system and all ancillary network services (DNS, DHCP, Web Proxy, TFTP etc.).
• Document system configuration and diagrams, as-builts, maintenance records etc.
• Make recommendations for service/product improvement.
• Implement ecosystem changes in accordance with departmental change policy.
• Provide technical trainings to team members as required.
• Interface with vendors/consultants/service providers to improve product offerings and platform enhancements.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field.
• Possession of one or more of the following designations: Red Hat RHCE, VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, VCP, CISSP.
• Three years experience in a network services field including hands-on experience and excellent knowledge of:
i. Compute infrastructure standards and configuration best practices.
ii. Managing expertise level firewalls and gateway devices.
iii. VMware, storage systems/clusters, firewalls, and other IT infrastructure components.
iv. Unix based (Linux, Ubuntu, Cent OS, etc.) operating system administration and general Linux support issues.
v. Scripting languages (Bash, PHP, Perl, Python, etc.)
vi. Networking (TCP/IP networking and core technologies, such as VPN, routing, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
vii. MS-Windows and general desktop support issues.
viii. Web site development, HTML, and SQL.
• Basic knowledge of RF fundamentals as it applies to cable networks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, be bondable, and able to life and carry 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to be on-call, and available for emergency services as required.
