Tourism Information Officer
Overview
Brandon Riverbank Inc. is seeking a tourism information officer with outstanding customer service skills, familiarity with Brandon and southwest Manitoba or willingness to learn, and availability to work days, weekends, and evenings. If you have a sparkling personality and enjoy meeting new people then you have found the right match as this is what Brandon Riverbank Inc. is looking for.
Position Purpose: To deliver local and regional tourism information, share your love for our beautiful city, sell and maintain inventory of souvenir merchandise, work well under pressure, assist with the multipurpose room and facility set-up, and tear down and clean up at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
• Customer service experience, in person, over the phone and using the internet
• Work well with children
• Effective communication and, problem-solving skills
• Have or be willing to get your Adult and Child Abuse registry checks
• Ability to move/lift, and set up tables and displays
• Showcase a strong appreciation for what our city has to offer and an ability to communicate effectively
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of social media and graphic design platforms such as Canva an asset)
• Experience in maintaining stock levels and preparing displays
• Marketing/promotion and event management an asset
• Willingness to learn more about our wonderful city and be prepared to have fun and smile a lot because joining our team
is awesome
• Be available to work days/weekends/evenings and able to fill in when someone is away
Position Details:
Start Date: as soon as possible
Applicant must be between 18 and 29 years of age as required by outside funding requirements
Hours:
Winter: 10 – 15 hours/week
Summer: 20-40 hours/week
Evening and weekend work required (every other weekend off)
