Overview

Infinity Women Secretariat (IWS) is a non-profit organization that connects Red River Métis women, girls, 2SLGBTQ+ members throughout the Province of Manitoba and beyond, with a mandate to promote, empower, and enhance their well-being. Incorporated on April 23, 2013, IWS has become well known in our Red River Métis communities and remains a proud affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the Red River Métis
The IWS seeks to fill one full-time Assistant Manager position within our Transitional Housing located in St. Andrews, MB. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Manager in overseeing all aspects of IWS Transitional Housing, including staff supervision, program coordination, administration, and facility operations. The Transitional Housing is currently under development. The successful candidate will be required to work at 150 Henry Avenue in Winnipeg, MB, for a temporary term, with the site anticipated to become operational in spring 2026.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Competencies:
• Deliver excellent leadership and assist with the management of IWS Transitional Housing;
• Oversee daily centre operations, support staff supervision, and ensure the safety and well-being of all members and children;
• Administer all centre operations through daily, weekly, and long-range work plans, and assist in setting operational and financial goals and objectives;
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry members, partners, and community agencies;
• Ensure members and their children have access to culturally grounded grief and trauma supports;
• Assume accountability for sound financial management, appropriate controls, documentation, and reporting;
• Adhere to all IWS and MMF policies, regulations, and practices while ensuring the mandates and objectives of IWS are always implemented within the centre.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Social Work, Business Administration, a related discipline, or a combination of suitable education and experience will be considered;
• Experience in a management role within a dynamic environment, and transitional housing or a related field is considered an asset;
• Experience working with vulnerable populations and Indigenous communities is considered and asset;
• Excellent analytical and financial skills with experience developing and monitoring budgets;
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
