Overview

True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a security-focused individual to join our team as:

Venue Security Guard

The Venue Security Guard plays a vital role in the responsibility of public and venue safety and security for employees and guests at True North Sports and Entertainment properties, based out of Canada Life Centre.

What to expect in this role:

- Provide proactive and safe service to all guests, employees, partners and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with all team members across the venues in a variety of assigned areas.
- Enforce venue regulations to ensure safety and service is always a top priority.
- Maintain and ensure all safety and emergency measures, protocols, and procedures are adhered to.
- Conduct regular security rounds and maintain detailed logs including incident reports and building operations work orders as required.
- Protect the venues and assets of True North from theft or damage.
- Assist with set-up and operation of security screening areas for Winnipeg Jets, Manitoba Moose, and concerts at Canada Life Centre.
- Oversee access to the venue including issuance of all keys, maintenance of visitor logs and enforcement of access procedures, all based on established policies.
- Monitor access to loading dock, receive, communicate and disseminate deliveries as required.
- Monitor security cameras, access control and other Security systems, programs and equipment.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, threats and all other disturbances and emergencies as necessary.

Qualifications

What we need from you:

- Must possess a valid Manitoba Security Guard license and have up to date First Aid Training.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts as required including days, evenings, and weekends.
- High School diploma/general education degree with equivalent combination of experience.
- Clean criminal record check as well as child abuse registry check less than 6 months old.
- Have strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good organizational and record keeping abilities.
- Be of good physical condition to conduct a variety of physically challenging duties.
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Background in conflict resolution, problem solving and guest experience.
- Familiarity with CCTV is an asset.
