Frontier Collegiate is seeking a dedicated and experienced educational leader to join our administrative team as Vice Principal. Located in the scenic community of Cranberry Portage, Frontier Collegiate is a unique, well-equipped high school offering a comprehensive Grade 9 to Grade 12 program to approximately 300 students, many of whom reside in on-site dormitories. The Vice Principal will support the Principal in fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically enriching environment while overseeing day-to-day operations, student support, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the overall administration and leadership of the school, including academic programming and dormitory life
Support teaching staff with instructional planning, professional development, and classroom management
Promote student engagement, attendance, and well-being through proactive leadership and student-centered initiatives
Help manage school operations, schedules, and supervision
Maintain strong communication with students, staff, parents/guardians, and the wider community
Uphold Frontier School Division policies and support the division’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree and Valid Manitoba Teacher's Certificate (or eligibility for)
- Master's degree in education/administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset
- At least five years of teaching experience and five years of administration experience
- Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction
- Extensive knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life and experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum
- Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology
- Strong instructional leader with the ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents, the community and foster parental involvement
- Ability to work in partnership with community agencies
- Previous success with the development and implementation of short- and long-term school-based plans
- Experience leading innovative and creative program delivery for students
- Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language would be preferred
