Victim Services Coordinator

Overview

In accordance with the Delegation of Authority, acts as a liaison between the police service, volunteers, other agencies and the victims of crime, while working toward the goals and objectives of the Brandon Police Service to meet the mission of the City of Brandon

Qualifications

Candidates successful in this competition will have demonstrated:
• Grade 12 standing or G.E.D equivalency
• Possess a valid and subsisting Class 5 Province of Manitoba driver’s licence
• Demonstrated ability to listen and understand the psychology of victims
• Bachelor’s degree in the field of social science including sociology, psychology, criminology, or a related discipline.
• Related experience in a police environment, victim services program or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is an asset.
• Courses or training in human behaviour and volunteer development an asset
• Experience with volunteer organizations
• Knowledge of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
• Completion of Accessibility Training
• Experience in social services including two years supervisory experience
