Job Title: Yard Attendant/Retail Associate
Position Type: Full-Time; Seasonal
Reports to: Store Team Lead and Greenhouse Team Lead
Purpose: The Yard Attendant/Retail Associate will efficiently manage the flow of supplies, materials, and equipment in and out of Livingstone Outdoor premises. This includes helping customers, receiving, delivering, and housing materials and equipment safely and efficiently. You must work outdoors in all weather conditions, operate yard equipment, organize yard sites, and handle heavy loads while ensuring a positive customer experience. You will also help make customers feel welcome in our store, help identify client needs and present answers about our products and services.

Yard Attendant Duties:
• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to anyone entering and leaving the yard site and garden center
• Load and unload customers who purchase or rent equipment and/or materials
• Receive and unload deliveries of sod, bricks, plants, and all other materials to the yard site
• Deliver equipment, products, or material to customers as needed/when requested
• Assist customers with handling heavy loads/lifting heavy materials, products, or equipment
• Maintain an organized and clean yard site at all times
• Operate equipment within the yard safely to ensure no damage to customer or workplace property
• Perform equipment pre/post trip inspections, Yard Hazard Assessments and other safety documentation as required
• Respond to two-way radio calls immediately to assist customers
• Other duties as assigned

Retail Associate Duties:
• Greet and direct customers
• Provide accurate information to customers (product features, pricing, etc.)
• Answer customer questions about products/services
• Ensure shelves are fully stocked, and all products are priced and labeled
• Assist with merchandise returns when needed
• Provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
• Operate POS System to finalize customer transactions when required

Qualification & Experience Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Possess, at minimum, a valid class 5 driver’s license
• Minimum one-year experience operating equipment (Skid Steer, Loader, etc.) required
• Ability to demonstrate safe operations of all equipment required
• Experience working in a brick/supply yard setting or similar role; a considerable asset
• Experience loading/unloading vehicles with equipment
• Experience loading and securing equipment and supplies on trailers for delivery
• Possess basic knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment & supplies

Physical Conditions:
The duties of the Yard Attendant/Retail Associate are carried out primarily in an outdoor environment.
• Lifts or moves up to 80lbs (daily)
• Ability to cross on uneven ground (daily)
• Ability to work outside for long periods of time
• Uses hands, arms, shoulders
• Prolonged standing, squatting, walking, etc.

The Yard Attendant/Retail Associate position workload and environment do not generally increase employees' emotional or stress levels.
