Elevate Your Education with Our Additional Credit and Upgrading Program.

Our Additional Credit and Upgrading program is designed for individuals who already have a high school diploma but wish to improve their grades, take additional courses to meet post-secondary admission requirements or upgrade their skills for a job.

In this program, you can choose from a range of courses to earn additional high school credits. Whether you need to boost your GPA, fulfill specific course requirements, or enhance your knowledge in a particular subject area, our flexible course offerings and supportive environment are here to help you succeed.

Our experienced instructors are dedicated to providing you with the guidance and support you need to excel in your studies. Additionally, our student advisors are available to assist you in mapping out your education and career goals, ensuring that you are on the right path to achieving your objectives.

We have two locations to serve you. Our Adult Learning Centre - Brandon is located at the Victoria Avenue East campus and has day and evening classes beginning every September and January. Our Adult Learning Centre - Parkland is located in Dauphin at our Parkland campus and semesters also begin in September and January.

Student advising & Supports

Our inclusive learning environment features student mingling areas, study spaces, classrooms, computer labs, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Your dedicated student success advisor will assist you in mapping out your education and career objectives. You will also have consistent access to a learning strategist, an Indigenous services officer, elders, and tutors, providing comprehensive support.

Admission Requirements

  • A complete Manitoba grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 18 years of age

No application fee is required.

English is the language of instruction at Assiniboine. All applicants educated outside of Canada or in a country not on the test exempt list are expected to meet the English language proficiency requirements.

Courses & Costs

The cost per course varies based on credits, with an average cost below $55. Students who have a high school diploma may take up to four additional high school courses tuition-free.

Schedule

The Centre for Adult Learning has two intakes: September and January. Courses are offered during weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

During this meeting, your advisor will discuss your goals, provide information about our programs, and assist in developing a custom education plan.
