Employer Showcase Series

November is Career Month in Canada and here in Manitoba, it’s also Career & Workforce Development Month!

To mark the occasion, current Co-op and Practicum employers connect with students from the Peters School of Business and the Russ Edwards School of Agriculture and Environment, who beginning to explore organizations they may apply to for work integrated learning placements in the spring and summer of 2026.

Each week in November, invited guests will meet with students in small group sessions. This speed-dating format is interactive and focused and designed with a workforce readiness approach.

Students walk away with the key information they need to tailor resumes and better prepare for potential interviews, while employers have the chance to identify potential candidates for upcoming work-integrated learning placements early, and continue building strong ties with future talent.

ConnectED; Bridging Students and Industry

In partnership with Brandon University and the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, this event features a series of roundtable breakout sessions. Students register and customize their own agenda, allowing them to engage with industry professionals of their choice, explore career pathways, and network with experts in their selected fields.

Mock Interviews

Mock interviews give students the opportunity to hone their interview skills, while giving industry volunteers the opportunity to get a ‘sneak peek’ at the newest group of soon-to-be graduates and/or students beginning to look for summer positions.

Assiniboine is hosting this annual event at the Victoria Ave East campus in Brandon, MB. This event is for all industries and groups interested in connecting with soon-to-be graduates who are seeking post-graduate, permanent positions.
