ACC releases master plan for North Hill Campus

Assiniboine Community College (ACC) recently completed a master plan for its North Hill Campus, providing a roadmap that will lead the growth and direction of the site over the next several decades.

The plan offers a clear, concise vision for how the physical North Hill Campus site should continue to develop while supporting the college’s overarching strategic direction to create exceptional learning experiences for all students.

“Our college resides within one of Brandon’s most picturesque and historically significant sites,” said ACC president Mark Frison. “It was important that we develop a plan for the campus that recognizes its value and develops its potential for years to come, not only for staff and students, but for the entire community.”

ACC partnered with DIALOG Inc., a Canadian firm that has worked extensively with colleges and universities across Canada to develop campus master plans.

The planning process took place over the last year and included a series of full-day stakeholder workshops, public open houses, and smaller presentation sessions across the community.

While the plan does not detail building sizes and specific uses, it does provide guidance for location of new buildings and open spaces to develop the functionality of the campus as a whole.

The campus master plan is intended to be a living document, written and structured to provide the college with a flexible decision-making framework, to accommodate change over time, as well as specific opportunities as they emerge.
