Assiniboine ECE program coming to Neepawa in 2027

Assiniboine College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is coming to Neepawa this January, an opportunity for aspiring early learning professionals to get their ECE diploma close to home.

“We are proud to be offering this program in Neepawa. We know this is a growing community with growing childcare needs,” said Brian Cox, Acting Dean of the School of Health and Human Services. “It’s also great to be adding ECE to the suite of other opportunities the college has introduced in Neepawa, including a new adult learning site and an upcoming intake of the Practical Nursing program”

The ECE program is provincially accredited, with graduates eligible for classification from Manitoba Early Learning as an ECE II. As an added bonus, students may qualify for tuition reimbursement of up to $5,000 per school year through the Province of Manitoba’s Early Learning and Childcare Workforce Strategy.

“We have enjoyed bringing ECE programs to communities across Manitoba over the last few years, thanks to a significant provincial investment,” said Cox. “The positive response we’ve seen in communities like Neepawa demonstrates the value of training closer to home.”

“The Province of Manitoba is committed to ensuring Manitobans have access to high-quality post-secondary education, and access to career training,” said Renée Cable, Minster of Advanced Education and Training for the Province of Manitoba. “With rural sites, students have the ability and opportunity to train close to home, fostering an integral link to the serving the residents of their home communities after graduation.”

Assiniboine is hosting an open house information night at the Neepawa Training Centre on Tuesday, October 20 from 6-8 p.m. Those interested in the program are encouraged to apply by October 30 to support planning for this intake.
