On Thursday, December 19 the Brandon Police Service's new armoured rescue vehicle was unveiled for the first time publicly at our Victoria Ave East Campus inside our Public Safety Training Centre.

As a provincial leader in public safety education, Assiniboine has held strong partnerships with a number of police services and public safety organizations in Manitoba for the past decade. We are pleased that they looked to us to assist them with the storage of this armoured recovery vehicle (ARV).

Nearly $400,000 was provided to BPS to purchase the ARV, which is designed to be used in tactical responses in critical incidents across southwestern Manitoba. The ARV has the capacity to carry 10 fully equipped members at a time and is built with ballistic armour. The vehicle will be used by other police and public safety agencies within the region, in addition to BPS.
