The Cougars Women’s Volleyball program have signed Brandon local, Kendall Baker for the 2021-22 season.

Baker, a Vincent Massey graduate and member of the Cats Volleyball Club program excels in the sport that pushes her to be both mentally and physically at her best.

“I believe my ability to be a strong team player and hard work ethic are strong attributes that I will bring to the team,” said Baker.

Baker enjoyed watching volleyball at a young age and the fast pace of the game. After being a member on the court with the Cats program, she took to coaching with the Neelin freshman volleyball program.

Cougars Head Coach, Jeff Maxwell values Bakers team-orientated attitude, both on and off the court.

“Kendall is a strong all-around athlete. We feel she will help improve our defense,” said Maxwell.

“Her strong leadership skills and willingness to coach, giving back to the community are the type of players we are looking for.”

When it came down to the final decision, the choice to sign with the Cougars was made by looking back on the programs progress. “The past and present success of the program and the coaching staff affiliated with the team were the deciding factors,” said Baker.

Baker described her excitement for the opportunities that the Agribusiness program can bring in the work force and the people she will meet within the industry.

Baker has been accepted into the Agribusiness program at Assiniboine Community College for the 2021-22 academic year.
