Madison Davidson has committed to the Cougar women’s volleyball 2022-23 season.

Davidson is a local talent, growing up in Brandon and graduating from Vincent Massey High School. While playing for the Vikings, she helped the team to a city championship in her JV year in 2019. At just 5’5”, Davidson’s forte is in the back court as a libero/defensive specialist. She has been apart of the club volleyball community for the last four years, this past season with the Cougars club team.

“I enjoy being part of a team, being encouraged and motivated by teammates and helping do the same for them,” said Davidson. “I look forward to being part of a new team, meeting new people, improving my skills and focusing on improvement in my specific position.”

Davidson is a great example of a well-rounded student athlete. She graduated from Vincent Massey with honours, has already achieved her certification as a Health Care Aide, and is bilingual. Davidson was this year’s recipient of the Brandon Friendship Centre Scholarship. She cares about her community, delivering Christmas hampers for Westman Cheer, helping to organize donations for the Massey Manor fire in 2018 and has hit the pavement, door-knocking for Brandon School Instrumental Music Association.

“We are pleased to add Maddy to the depth of our team,” said Cougars coach Kevin Neufeld. “She is a skilled and hardworking student athlete who will only make our team better.”

Davidson will be entering the college’s Medical Administration program in the fall. With an interest in the medical field, she hopes to pursue nursing in the future
