End of Program Ceremony for Enhanced Safety & Security Training Class

Yesterday, Thursday 27 February, Assiniboine recognized the end of program Ceremony for 43 students who have successfully completed the inaugural Enhanced Safety & Security Training program hosted in Winnipeg.

Assiniboine was approached by the South East Resource Development Corporation (SERDC) to create an enhanced security guard training course. Enhanced security guards work at nursing stations which have narcotics at the nursing station and require 24-hour guard.

The students who were selected by SERDC, represented six different First Nation communities and were able to undertake the six-week program. These successful students received a Certificate of Achievement from Assiniboine and Certificates in mental health first aid, standard first aid/CPR, and non-violent crisis intervention.
