IMA students to produce three documentaries for MTS TV's Stories from Home

Our Interactive Media Arts (IMA) students recently gave their documentary pitches to industry professionals this past week in an effort to have their films selected for MTS TV's Stories from Home.

The MTS Pitchfest is a key piece of the IMA media students' second year, allowing every student the opportunity to pitch an idea for a 10-minute documentary about a local person, place, or thing to air on MTS TV's Stories from Home, a video-on-demand service for MTS cable subscribers. This year's winners are:

  • After 8, produced by Braden Dereniwski
  • Off the Grid, produced by Scotty Gwyer
  • Prairie Homeless Lifestyle, produced by Courtney Dumas

These students will take the next few months to produce their films alongside classmates. The three films will make their debut at the annual IMA Premiere on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

As part of an ongoing YouTube video series, the students produce weekly video content covering college programs, student life and events. A recap of the pitchfest follows below.
