Nearly 70 new ACC grads celebrating today

Sixty-eight students will formally graduate from Assiniboine Community College’s Parkland Campus today.

“Graduations are always a special day for our college,” said president Mark Frison. “These individuals have made meaningful investments in their futures through education. Today we applaud their achievements and celebrate the beginning of the next chapters in their lives.”

Graduating students represent six different certificate and diploma programs: Applied Building Construction, Business Administration (both diploma and certificate), Carpentry and Woodworking, Comprehensive Health Care Aide, and Mature Student High School.

Twenty students are set to graduate with distinction, meaning they achieved at least a 4.0 cumulative weighted grade point average during their studies.

ACC will be handing out 36 monetary and non-monetary awards amounting to more than $12,250 during the Student Achievement Celebration dinner later in the day.

The graduation ceremony will take place today at 2 p.m. at the 8th Avenue Hall in Dauphin. The Student Achievement Celebration dinner follows starting at 5:30 p.m.
