Whether you're planning a small get-together or a huge convention, there are a lot of threads to keep track of. How can you be sure you've tied up all the loose ends? And the bigger the event, the bigger the stakes.

Luckily, we're bringing in a professional to show you how to plan any event.

Katrina Sigurdson has owned and operated Party Professionals (wedding and event decor rental company) since 2010. She's involved with about 300 weddings a year, plus many corporate galas, conventions, and Christmas parties. Check out photos from their most recent events on Facebook.

Before owning Party Professionals, Katrina and her husband traveled throughout Canada, US, and England doing interior decorating. They now live in Brandon with their two-year-old son.

Now, Katrina is ready to show you some of the secrets of a full-time event planner.

She's leading two workshops this spring and summer that will help you get the most our of your event by ensuring you have a plan in place. She'll look at wedding planning specifically in a three-hour evening workshop on Wednesday, May 27. And she'll look at how to plan other types of events in another three-hour evening workshop on Wednesday, July 15.

Wedding are likely to be one of the highest-profile events that most people will ever plan or participate in. It often includes multiple locations, overlapping schedules and invitees who don’t all know each other. Making sure that this happy day goes off smoothly means that everything from the food to the entertainment is perfectly planned and readied in advance. This course will take you through all aspects of planning a wedding, to ensure that tying the knot goes off exactly as the couple dreams.
