Weed ID Day

Assiniboine Community College in conjunction with Manitoba Agriculture and Manitoba Weed Supervisors Association is hosting a Weed Seedling ID day this Wednesday, May 31.
“We are excited to host this day in our Weed Identification Garden, where students and the public can examine weeds in person often in a variety of stages from seedlings to mature specimens,” said Danielle Tichit, Agribusiness Instructor.
Beginning Wednesday, at 1:00 p.m. join us at Assiniboine’s North Hill Campus in the Grey Owl Room of the Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts for a weed seedling identification presentation by Jeanette Gaultier from MB Ag.
The presentation is followed by a live weed seedling ID practice session at ACC-MZTRA Weed Identification Garden, at Assiniboine’s Sustainable Greenhouse from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This is the first time Assiniboine will be hosting this event. Can you identify weeds? If you can’t or you need a refresher you should come to the Weed Seedling Identification Day. Refreshments will be available at no charge. Event will commence in rain or shine. Everyone is welcome. For additional event details click HERE.
