Assiniboine Community College has been providing exceptional learning experiences that have been transforming lives and strengthening Manitoba through applied education and research for more than 60 years.
The women’s soccer team plays in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) against other post-secondary teams in the province. League begins in September and is done by the end of October with games on the weekends. The winner from the MCAC going on to represent Manitoba at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association national championships.
Be Passionate and Take Initiative with these Responsibilities:
- Passionate about working with student athletes, coaching, and soccer.
- Evaluating performance and providing suitable feedback comes and the ability to balance constructive criticism with positive and motivating comments.
- Able to assess strengths and weaknesses in a participant’s performance, while identifying areas for further development.
- Positive personality and are able to encourage participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge, and techniques, both on and off the field.
- Helps the team and individual players set goals and work towards achieving these goals.
- Develop and run try-outs, plan and effectively run 2-3 practices per week, develop and communicate game plans, and be able to take advantage of ‘coaching moments’ during games and practices.
- Engaging personality to be able to recruit players to the team.
Be able to deliver results by having:
- Maintain open communication with the Athletics Department
- Ensue adherence to all league requirements, deadlines, and player eligibility.
- Work with the Athletic Department to ensure all athletes understand the academic requirements and adhere to them.
- You will have a strong understanding of soccer, including the skills and strategies, and be able to maintain positive coaching habits.
- Travel including on some weekends is required, travel costs (meals, transportation, and accommodation) are provided.
This competition will remain open until the position is filled.
