Civil Design Technologist
Overview
Our growing Edmonton office is looking to hire a highly capable Civil Design Technologist to join our team to deliver excellent service to our Municipal and Indigenous clients across central and Northern Alberta.
As a Civil Design Technologist, you will be responsible for working alongside our team of engineering, planning and drafting specialists to translate high-level conceptual designs from preliminary, through to detailed design. Some of your daily responsibilities will be:
• Support engineering personnel in the field with design, drawing production and/or construction specifications
• Ensuring quality control of your work
• Communicating with project leaders
• Performing a variety of defined assignments with independent judgment
• Conducting field Inspection, field surveying and surveying drafting
• Assisting with project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met
Qualifications
Our preferred candidate is a recent graduate from an Engineering Design & Drafting Technology or Civil Engineering Technology program with up to two years of experience and possesses the following skills, strengths, and interests:
• Proficiency in Civil 3D
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software
• Experience and understanding of GIS is an asset
• A keen eye for detail and takes great pride in their work, in projects both large and small
• Effective communication and writing abilities
• Committed to ongoing personal and professional development
• Certification or eligible for certification with ASET
• Valid class 5 drivers license
